Translator of Swedish and Russian literature into English; editor of Swedish Book Review
I am a literary translator working from Swedish and Russian into English, with a focus on contemporary fiction, children's fiction and narrative non-fiction. I hold an MA in translation theory and practice (the Scandinavian languages, Russian and French into English, UCL, 2014), and in 2015 I was awarded the British Centre for Literary Translation’s Emerging Translator mentorship for Russian. As a translator, I have had the privilege of working on a wide range of texts, including works by Maxim Osipov, Katrine Marçal, Camilla Sten, Anne Swärd and Sara Osman. In 2020, my co-translation of Maxim Osipov's Rock, Paper, Scissors and other stories was shortlisted for the Read Russia prize. I am also editor of Swedish Book Review, SELTA's journal, which publishes previously unpublished new writing from the Swedish-speaking world. In addition to SELTA, I am a full member of the Translators' Association (Society of Authors). Having lived in Moscow, Paris, Stockholm and Uppsala, I now call London home.
