I was born on the Isle of Man, where historically the Celtic and Norse worlds met, and I've always been fascinated by language; both my own first language of English and others.

​As a professional translator for more than twenty years, I have translated millions of words of fiction and non-fiction, but I still get a little frisson of excitement when I start any new project.
